Full Name: Riley Josiah Todd Nickname: None Age: 17 Date of Birth: December 16 Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Caucasian Hair Color: Black Eye Color: Blue Full Description: Riley's a normal boy - when it comes to height, at least. He comes in at the average 5'8, making someone that doesn't stick out easily. The only reason you'd ever remember him is because, like most people, your first thought when seeing him is "Wow that kid's skinny!" And he is. At the maximum he'd weigh in at 130-135 pounds, however just looking at him one would probably guess a lower weight. That's mainly from his choice of clothing that, even if they do look very nice on him, don't help one bit with the weight. He can fit into a good majority of woman's jeans and he does just that, squeezing into any pair of woman's skinny jeans he can find. For shirts he tends to go with any old t-shirt that you'd expect a teenager to wear along with his loved gray hoodie or a nice, expensive leather jacket. As for accesories, he has a thing for scarves and big glasses. If you've ever been to a clean, beautiful beach you'd know that Riley's eyes would be best compared to the water of a perfect beach. A pale, light blue with just the smallest hint of green and a dash of silver. They're rather spectacular, one of his best features next to his hair. Riley's hair is a light black that's all natural. The length is just like any other boy's hair; short but not too short. His bangs are styled to go to across his forehead to the left, in a way that his eyes are still viable of course.
[d e e p e r] Ability: It may not seem like much, but Riley can manipulate water. He can't, however, just make it appear out of thin air. There has to be some sort of water present. It's unusual to see him mess around with just the raw element of water for he enjoys to play with ice much more. Even though he's rather good at his ability Riley could never do any serious harm to anyone; much to his displeasure. Likes: /photography /old songs /apples /clothes /really good friends /running /rain /big, fancy words /love /the internet Dislikes: xHot Weather xPeople With No Sense Of Humour xFighting xDogs xThose With Nothing Better To Do Than Hate xAbsolute Boredom xModern-Day Bands [they're really all the same] xStereotypes xNot Understanding Something xExclusion Characteristics: When you first meet Riley, he comes off as shy. He likes to keep to himself for the most part and there are very few people that he actually trusts. He's a secluded guy that keeps his a guard up 24/7. He really doesn't like people that he doesn't know well; if he's around a group he considers friend even one new person can throw him off. He won't become unfriendly, he'll just become nervous and wary, afraid that anything he might say could be the wrong thing around this foreign person. It'll take a while but soon enough Riley will begin opening up. No, he won't spill his whole life story to you. Instead he'll be a lot more comfortable, looking like he normally does instead of like his spot in society was about to be pulled out from underneath him. Hell, he might even talk to you! As time goes on, if things go right, Riley will be on of your loyalist friends you've ever had. He is not one known of backstabbing, not even to those who hurt him first. He's a nice boy, laid back and not one to get in others faces. Although there are a few things that can make Riley come unglued. As I already mentioned he's a loyal, die hard friend. Mess with someone he trusts and you're sure to get it. When it comes to fights he relies solely on his power to bring him through seeing as without it he'd be crushed. Even with his power he's likely to lose. So instead of getting physical it's much more probable that, if you get on his bad side, he'll slaughter you with words. That he's good at. Ruining someone's reputation isn't something you'd see Riley do on a regular basis. Acting like a complete moron, however, is a whole other story. There's a part of him that's still very childish and it's often that he embraces that side of him. He loves to laugh, have fun and just act as goofy and ridiculous as possible. He does have a serious side that you can see quiet often as well - unlike some people Riley knows when to act wild and when not. Years upon years of being treated like a prince has made Riley quiet the...brat? I wouldn't take it that far, however he can get into the "Everything I want is mine, and everything I say goes," mood easily. This makes him come off as conceited and spoiled. To some degree that's true but he's not really someone that thinks only of himself. In fact, most of the time he puts other before himself. Sometimes, though, he can be quiet the little enfant terrible.
[d a e m o n] Name: Sayuri Form: Meerkat Description: A couple of years ago, Sayuri settled into her present form as a meerkat, just the perfect form for her human counterpart. She's small and swift with little brown eyes outlined in black circles. The main color of her coat, like most meerkats, is a soft tan. Her underbelly is white, and there are small black stripes going down her back and all the way to her little tail. Sayuri is like a meerkat version of Riley. True, there are a few things that they differ on but other than that they're exactly alike. For one, she is just as shy around strangers as her human is, possibly more so. She's very afraid of people that she hasn't met before and is likely to go into hiding when around one (Riley's jacket hood is a favorite places to cower.) Unlike Riley, however, it takes her much longer to get use to a person and even when she does she's still on guard at all times. She's very protective of Riley just as he is protective of her. When she's not cowering, Sayuri likes to have fun. She has a seemingly endless amount of energy that she's always reading to waste. She could run for hours on end. As well as running she just likes to goof around and do whatever, as long as she thinks it's safe.
[f i n i s h i n g;t o u c h e s] History: In the city of Quebec, Canada a boy by the name of Riley was born to two proud parents; Eve and Jack Todd. It was the couples first child, so like any parent they pampered and spoiled him. He could have anything his heart desired which, as was expected, turned him into a spoiled brat. Luckily it wasn't as bad as other kids and didn't get in the way of school (he could still be a troublemaker at times) leading his parents to continue their pampering. When Riley was seven years old, his little sister Selena was born. Right away Riley loved her. By the time she was old enough to walk and talk the two were inseparable. Riley taught her everything, from how to ride her bike to addition when she got into school. For everything and anything he was there for her. Every time she fell and scraped her knee he was there to stick on the bandage. He even helped her through her first break up. So it was only logical that he tell her when he found out about his ability. It was a sunny July day. The two, Riley 14 and Selena only 7, were sitting by the St. Lawerence simply relaxing and enjoying the summer break. Selena was strechted out on the green grass while Riley sat next to her listening to his Ipod. He'd actually known about this gift he possessed for a while now and had been planning on showing his sister, but he had never gotten the time. That's when he got the idea; staring out at the clear water. "Selena," He broke the silence. His little sister looked up at him. She sat up as Riley, leaving his music behind, crawled over to sit next to her. Sayuri, unsettled and in the form of a rabbit, hopped with him, her ears twitching nervously. She was as uncertain about this as Riley was. Selena and her dog daemon grew still as they realized that this was serious. "What?" She asked. Riley took a deep breath and moved closer to her. "Want to see some magic?" That was the only way he knew how to explain this to her in way that she'd understand. Her eyes widened and her daemon barked in excitement. "What kind of magic?" Riley couldn't help but crack a smile. "Only the best kind." He then went on to put on a little water show for her. He did the hardest thing he had been practicing on. With just a wave of his hand, water flew up from the river and twirled together before freezing mid air. It was draining, but he managed to hold it there as he looked over at Selena. "Do you like it?" He asked. She couldn't answer him. Her eyes were wide in awe, her mouth open in surprise. It wasn't every day that you got to see your brother control water. Finally she was able to sputter out, "I-is it real?" To answer his question, he let the ice shatter and fall back into the river - all except one piece. Another wave, as if he were conducting an orchestra instead of ice, and it came zipping towards him. Riley caught it and handed it over to his sister. Warily she took it from him. Selena examined it to find that it was infact real ice; it was even begining to melt in her hand. She looked back up at her big brother. "How did you do that?" "I'm not sure," Riley answered, but you gotta promise me one thing." She nodded, "DON'T tell anybody." The two kept the secret for the longest time. Most of the time they ignored it completley, while on the brightest of days they would go down to the river and he would show her what he had learned. They were happy and that was all that mattered. They both prospered in school, keeping both a B average and a top spot on the popular list. All was good. Until Eve started to get suspicious. A mother knows when her children are up to something and Eve definatly knew. She just wasn't sure what. She did everything to try and find out what it was, from searching their stuff to confronting them. Nothing worked. Eventually she decided that she would be sneaky about it - she would follow her children. And she did just that. One day, after Riley and Selena had rushed out of the hosue on their way to the St. Lawerence she trailed behind them. What she saw was simply shocking. Out of all the things she had thought they might be doing, manipulating water hadn't quiet made the list. In the end, after a lengthy conversation with his mother, Riley Todd was sent off to Stonebrook. The only thing he wants at the moment is to get out of this place as soon as possible.
Roleplay Sample: [Not my best post =P But it's one of my more recent ones; it's a reply to another post]
The sky was a brilliant shade of purples and oranges as the sun slowly creeped upward into it's position. It looked as if the colors were seeping into the sky, even though soon the pinks would dissapear completley to be replaced by the pale, almost sickly blue that marked winter. So Kari was enjoying the color while it lasted. The femme sat at the shallow end of the river, staring out into space. She was at peace here, merely thinking to herself. She was the kind that liked being at alone. Others just interupted her concentration. Which was why she was out as early as she was. Usually the light element rose later, when the sun was hanging above the packs. Today though, she had awoken early and decided it'd be best to spend that time admiring the sunrise.
A cold breath of wind floated by, alerting Kari of the presence of another wolf. She glanced over at the general direction the breeze had came from but couldn't see anything. The wolf had to be farther away, which was just fine to her. As long as she wasn't bothered. Time passed slowly out by the river. The sun got higher in the sky but did little to help warm up the Earth below. Finally she had had enough sight seeing and rose to her paws, turning around and bounding agily along the river. She kept her brown orbs ahead of her as she sprinted along, only gazing at the rushing river beside her occasionaly. Occasionaly was enough. Kari skidded to a halt. There was something in the water, something big and dark...She squinted, then gasped as she reconignezed the shape as a wolf.
For a moment she just stood there, stunned. Should she jump in and save him or try and get help? If she just jumped in she herself could die. Then again, there was a good possibility that it would take too long to get help. With a sigh Hikari took a deep breath before diving into the river. The first thing that hit her was the cold. She gasped, getting a mouthful of water. The other wolf suddenly became only a distant thought as she became intent on keeping herself alive. With all her strength she swam upward. Her head broke the water for a second and she managed to get in a feeble breath before being pulled back into the dark water. The other wolf came to mind now that she had air - for now - and she glanced around for him. There it was, going deeper into the water. Kari mustered up as much energy as possible, then used some of that to create a dim light in the dark water. The rest was used to get to the other.
